Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Dody attended Northwestern University and received her B.A. with a double major Religion and Sociology. She graduated from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine with an advanced degree in Acupuncture, and studied abroad at the University of Guangzhou, China. In addition, she completed post-graduate studies in Chinese Herbal Studies at Tri-State College of Acupuncture and received national certification in Sports Medicine Acupuncture.

From 2000-2003, Dody worked for Dr. Ming Jin in a busy Chinese Medicine clinic in New York City where she treated more than 30 patients a day. During this time, she specialized in women’s health and integrative cancer care, and gained extensive experience treating difficult and challenging cases.

In 2001, Dody established the acupuncture program for Greenwich Hospital where she worked in an integrative healthcare setting as a hospital-based acupuncturist for 11 years. Currently she maintains private practice in Irvington, NY and Old Greenwich, CT.

Dody has been a long time practitioner of meditation including Zen, Vippasana, and Kundalini. She is also a Reiki practitioner, and incorporates energy work in her acupuncture sessions. During her twenties, she earned a second degree black belt in Aikido, a Japanese Martial Art. In her free time, Dody enjoys playing soccer, reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors with her family.
